03/01/10 - Governor Sonny Perdue proclaimed March 2010 as Purchasing Month in Georgia on February 17, 2010. Becky Daniel, Linda Jones, and Michael Barr represented GPAG at the Capitol for the signing of the proclamation. According to the National Institute of Governmental Purchasing (NIGP), Purchasing Month promotes the importance of the profession and recognizes its contributions. Purchasing professionals, through their combined purchasing power, spend billions of dollars every year. This spending has a significant influence upon economic conditions throughout the world.
